Taking Pictures

Caution
• NEVER open the card compartment cover, eject the card, remove
the batteries, or disconnect the AC adapter while the camera is in
operation. This could destroy the card itself or the data on the
card.
• The card is a precision instrument. Handle it carefully and do not
subject it to physical shocks.
• Do not touch the contact area of the card.
• For more information, read the Cards' instruction manual.
MEMO
• See page 15 for how to select the memory card to store images
when both the SmartMedia card and the CompactFlash card are set.
• When using Non Olympus brand SmartMedia and the
CompactFlash, format them with the Camedia C-2500L before using
them.

Turning the Power ON
Your camera can be turned ON as described as follows.
Remove the lens cap before turning the power on.
Turning the Power ON
The basic procedure is to load (a) SmartMedia / CompactFlash memory
card(s), turn the camera ON and check the remaining battery charge and
number of pictures left.
Check the mode dial (P.15) is at "P".
If not, turn it to "P".
Press the ON/OFF button.
Shortly after power comes ON, the camera checks automatically to
see if the selected card is loaded or not.
The remaining battery charge, the number of remaining pictures and
other information will be displayed on the control panel.
Checking The Batteries
When the camera is turned on, the remaining battery charge appears on the
control panel as follows.
lights and turns off automatically.
Batteries are OK.
You can shoot.
blinks and other indicators on the control panel are displayed
normally.
Battery power is low and batteries should be replaced. You can take a few
images. But the battery may run out during operation.
