Advanced Shooting Techniques
Settings return to the default when the power is turned off.
When the power is turned off, exposure compensation returns to ±0.
To hold a setting in the camera memory after turning off the power, go
to the settings in the shooting menu and select HOLD (p.99).
HELP
• When you change the setting, the brightness of the view on the monitor
will also change. In some cases you may find that the monitor image
becomes difficult to read. After taking the image, you may want to replay it
and check the results.
• The exposure compensation function may have limited performance when
shooting with the flash.
• If the area around the subject is way too bright or way too dark, it will not
be fully corrected by exposure compensation.

(Exposure Compensation)
In addition to automatic exposure, you can also adjust it manually by
+/– 2 (approx. 1/3 stops). Adjust + to increase the exposure, and – to
decrease the exposure. Confirm the settings by turning on the monitor.
For details about how to use the menu, see “Using the Shooting
Menu” (p.74).
