Flash shooting
With this camera, you can use one of the separately sold external flash units to achieve a flash
suited to your needs.
The external flashes communicate with the camera, allowing you to control the camera’s flash
modes with various available flash control modes, such as TTL-AUTO and Super FP flash. An
external flash unit specified for use with this camera can be mounted on the camera by
attaching it to the camera’s hot shoe. You can also attach the flash to the flash bracket on the
camera using the bracket cable (optional).
Refer to the external flash’s manual as well.

Using the external electronic flash
Be sure to attach the flash to the camera before turning on the flash’s power.

Remove the hot shoe cover by sliding it in
the direction indicated by the arrow in the
illustration.
Keep the shoe cover in a safe place to avoid
losing it, and put it back on the camera after
flash shooting.

Attach the electronic flash to the hot shoe
on the camera.
If the lock pin is protruding, turn the shoe lock
ring as far as it will go in the direction opposite
to LOCK. This will pull the lock pin back inside.
